Live venue maps
When a venue's been mapped, its real outline appears as you search. Smaller or one-off events might just show as a pin, still enough to navigate by.
The last 20 metres are the hard part.
GPS gets you to roughly the right place, then gives up. That's the exact moment you're standing on your toes waving a phone in the air. Beacon hands over to Ultra Wideband for the final stretch, the same tech Apple uses to find an AirTag, and walks you in step by step until you're face to face.

Precision finding needs an iPhone 11 or newer at both ends. Everyone else still gets the live arrow, distance and radar.

Radar points you straight at your person, but big sites aren't laid out in straight lines. Flip to Map to see the venue's actual layout, so you can find a real path through instead of just a direction to walk in.

Sharing your location, without the creepy part
Beacon only exists for the hours you're actually at an event. It isn't a permanent tracking network, and it never asks for your contacts. Read the full privacy policy.
No account, no contacts
Open the app, pick a name, go. Beacon never asks for your phone book and doesn't need to know who you are to work.
Only your session sees you
Your position goes to the people holding your session code and nobody else. There's no public map, and no way to look someone up.
Go invisible any time
One toggle in Settings — “Share my location” — hides you from the group while you can still see everyone else. Beacon keeps reminding you while you're hidden, so you can't forget and leave your people unable to find you.
Leave and you're gone
Leaving a session removes your position from it, on the spot. Nothing lingers on a map after you've gone home.
Beacon vs. live location sharing
Find My and WhatsApp are fine for meeting one friend at a pub. A field with 50,000 people and no signal is a different problem.
